Question to my watchers

Journal Entry: Tue May 6, 2008, 11:50 AM
Hi,

I'd like to have a little feedback. At some point on few recent gigs, starting from the moment when I posted "Primal Fear II" deviation ([link]), I am experimenting with low-saturated and high contrast images. This is done basically after the approach that people from Huumakuva ([link]) take, though, of course, it's only one of possible way to process concert images; Huumakuva people just looke a bit to attached to it, but on other hand, it really works.

So did my pictures became better? Worser? Just turned to be different? I especially interested in the opinions of experienced photographers.

And my sincere apologies that I do not comment back every single fav, I'm really short on time now because of PhD and so on. :)

I´d say go for it.

I wouldn´t say "worse" or "better" since it´s simply a different style.(and a matter of taste)
Your normal/clear pics have a good quality and the desaturated ones aren´t bad either. I think it´s pretty difficult to compare.

And in the end it´s up to everyone, whether he/she likes the desaturated or noisy stuff or not.

I for my part like such stuff (quite obvious in my gallery as well, haha), but I know quite a few who don´t.

Hehe, so as always with art...it´s a matter of taste. Just postprocess the pics as you feel they look best. :)

They are both awesome. Different style in both and both work well. "worser" isn't a word ;) haha.

Very nice technique. It is in fact not only used in gig and promo photography, but compliments a lot of photos in urban landscape and so on. I have talked a bit to Pete and will most likely use more of this technique as well. :)

To use it or not... depends on the photo. Some do look better without it.

Thank you Cornelia!
All the people sound reassuring, thanks God. You know, when I am just doing all these pics by myself, I rarley have such a good feedback.
