We have to admit, that people are really rare value pictures for its special properties. You know, unusual twist of details, well-though perspective, attention to every detail and other things that are important for the art critics. People are neither critics nor even specialists. They like just whatever looks flashy and pretty.
What takes the most pageviews is not the most special picture, but either it is a loud name (Nightwish, Alice Cooper, j-rock bands...) or it is a (rather standard in a sense of usual-ness) eye-candy shot.
Come on people - we have all learn how to draw fantasy and manga! Our pageviews will be multiplied 100 times for sure (just look at sections like "Prints", "DD" etc)

Tons and piles of some gothic crying ladies could also be very popular, you do not have to make them look different, just you know, make them goth. Gothic lolita shall intermix both manga and goth style, so it is a best bet, bwahaha.
As a side note, I have my favourite fantasy manga and fantasy drawers, that are *
Ugly-baka-girl and that young talent from Finland *
ShadowUmbre I also like whatever is flashy, and I do love anime. Stay true, nya! ^_^

Though, to step away from concert photography, I disagree that people only like flashy and pretty. Otherwise there wouldn't be so many DD's with city life, where people capture pure emotion without any manga goth flicks. And frankly speaking I have seen very few photos in Popular which I wouldn't like.
